Nelson Granados, general maintenance tech in Facilities and Campus Operations, is a critical part of 91����’s Science and Technology Campus team. His colleagues know him for his outstanding workmanship and his willingness to help. For his capability and his dedication, Granados has been recognized as the September Employee of the Month.

Elizabeth Foy has been an anchor in the Chemistry and Biochemistry Department at 91���� since 2014. As lab manager, she oversees the preparation and distribution of all chemistry materials required at both the Fairfax and Science and Technology campuses. In recognition of her dedication and excellence while managing nearly 100 lab class sections per week, Foy has been named August Employee of the Month.

Stephanie Shanahan, a human resources assistant in the College of Engineering and Computing (CEC) at 91����, is known for being able to do it all. In their letters of support, her colleagues emphasized her attention to detail, reliability, and willingness to help. In recognition of her dedication, expertise, and unwavering support of the CEC community, she has been named July Employee of the Month.

Aquanetta Betts, director of planned giving at the Office of Advancement and Alumni Relations, is June Employee of the Month.

Caitlin Horan, assistant dean of graduate academic services in 91����’s Costello College of Business, has transformed the graduate services team. Referred to as the “heart” of the Costello graduate team, Horan is known for her innovation, student advocacy, and strong organization skills. For this and more, she is being recognized as the May Employee of the Month.

Clinical Assistant Professor Danielle Dufresne is the associate center director at 91����'s Center for Community Mental Health (CCMH) and April Employee of the Month. A member of George Mason’s Psychology Department since 2019, Dufresne is responsible for training new clinicians and overseeing every psychological/behavioral/cognitive assessment at the Fairfax-based center.

Paul Bazzano has worked for Mason Recreation for more than 30 years. He started as a student worker while pursuing his bachelor’s degree in communication at 91���� and is now assistant director of competitive sports and athletic training. 

For her efforts to ensure 91���� is an environment where all students can succeed, Shekila Melchior, director of strategic initiatives and partnerships in 91����’s Office of Access, Compliance and Community, has been named February Employee of the Month.

January Employee of the Month Oscar Ferrufino is a member of 91����’s Essential Employees group, so he is one of the first to respond when severe weather is forecasted. A heavy equipment operator in Facilities Management, he has been an integral part of the Facilities and Campus Operations department for almost 20 years. Since 2006, his work has helped make George Mason’s campuses a better place. 

Julie Hudson, executive assistant to Dean Mark J. Rozell at the Schar School of Policy and Government at 91����, played an integral role in maintaining the school’s operations during the pandemic and has demonstrated exceptional flexibility as her position evolved over the years. For her leadership and outstanding work ethic, Hudson is being recognized as the December Employee of the Month.
