WECARE 2.0, a digitally delivered health promotion program for Chinese American dementia caregivers, is easy to use for all literacy levels and increases social supports. An innovative assessment by PhD student Kang Shen highlights that self-report feedback and website activity are crucial for understanding the delivery of a digital intervention.

Ali Reza Manouchehri, BA Philosophy ‘99, co-founder and chief executive officer of MetroStar, a company he started as a 91���� student, will be the featured speaker at Winter Commencement on December 18 at EagleBank Arena on the Fairfax Campus.

Federico Frum, BA Art and Visual Technology ’05, believes in the power of art to bring people together. Known professionally as MasPaz—Spanish for “more peace”—Frum has spent his career fusing activism and creativity, using bold street murals, community engagement, and cultural storytelling to spread a message of unity.

From improving underserved communities’ care to supporting faculty research on women living with HIV, Janell Addo-Boateng, MPH ’25, gained hands-on experience in policy, evaluation, and communication.

In her first year of teaching, Emmeline Mejia, MEd ’24, has already earned one of Fairfax County Public Schools' top honors: 2025 Outstanding New Secondary Teacher of the Year.
