Mason’s School of Theater and the Mason Players are presenting “The Originals” this week—a collection of new work featuring the school’s talented student playwrights.

With thousands of people and countless opportunities, there’s a lot to take in at Virginia’s largest public research university. To help 91���� students find community and boost their on-campus experience, Housing and Residence Life created Learning Communities (LC), where students with common interests live and learn together during the academic year. Democracy Lab is one of the newest LCs. More than 60 freshmen from the Schar School of Policy and Government are enrolled for its inaugural year.

International graffiti artist TakerOne is working on a mural, “Fauna of Belmont Bay,” at Mason’s Potomac Science Center in Woodbridge, Virginia.

Before appearing to hundreds of students gathered on Wilkins Plaza, the vice president spoke to Assistant Professor Samuel Frye’s integrative studies class, “Community, Culture and Change,” as a surprise guest speaker.

91���� welcomed its largest freshman class for the Fall 2021 semester, which was part of the largest-ever entry of new degree-seeking undergraduates.

The Washington Center for Equitable Growth is awarding $80,000 to help 91���� professor Bweikia Foster Steen and fellow researchers study home-based childcare providers in Virginia.
