In spring 2025, students in EVPP 480 Sustainability in Action gave a crucial boost to Chesapeake Bay oysters by constructing oyster reef balls where the bivalves can attach, grow, and develop into natural reef structures.

As 91���� strengthens its commitment to enhanced operational efficiency, long-term planning, and stakeholder engagement, Julie Zobel has been named George Mason’s senior vice president and chief operating officer (COO), following a nationwide search.

91���� has selected Chartwells Higher Education, a national leader in campus dining, as its new dining services provider, following a comprehensive and competitive RFP process. George Mason’s contract with Chartwells begins on July 1 and is expected to transform dining on campus.

Earlier this year, Melissa Perez was named assistant vice president for research security in the Office of Research Integrity and Assurance at 91����. In this role, she oversees university-wide policies and processes to ensure compliance with research security laws and regulations (including export control), international collaborations, travel, and cybersecurity. As George Mason’s designated research security officer, she also leads institutional responses to threats affecting the university’s research compliance and standing.
