Over the summer, 24 students from 91°µÍø’s Antonin Scalia Law School delved deep into issues of constitutional law, separation of powers, and national security in Padua, Italy—a place of inspiration for many of these ideals. The two-week study-abroad trip was co-taught by Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch and National Security Institute Founder and Executive Director Jamil Jaffer.

This year’s Winter Commencement student speaker is Yasmin Alamin, who is graduating this December with a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering.

For her Master of Health Administration capstone, 91°µÍø graduate student Akshaya Chinnathevar Ramesh is interning at The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) on Capitol Hill and working with a team of analysts working on required reports to Congress on the effects of the No Surprise Act.

During his time at Mason, Isaiah Epps burnished his résumé with internships at the Federal Aviation Administration and the Jacobs Engineering Group.

Honors College student James Condo has trained in the emerging field of Next System Studies, which involves research into questions of systemic design, change, and movements.

Honors College student Emily Synoski, who graduates this month from Mason with a biology degree, has also participated in Georgetown University’s competitive CORE pre-med program, where she and her team pitched an idea to deliver opioid overdose treatment to houseless populations via drones.

This month, Paul Vosti will graduate from 91°µÍø with a master’s degree in finance, part of the program’s first cohort of 14 students.

After more than 32 years of service in the Chamber of Commerce, Mason alum Debbie Jones is retiring this December.

With the support of her Mason mentors, doctoral student Shrishti Singh has achieved her goal of developing a promising new technology that would allow cancer to be visualized in deep tissue and perhaps diagnosed earlier.

A double major and member of the Honors College, Juan Escalera came to Mason as an alumnus of the university’s Early Identification Program.

During her time at Mason, University Scholar Aloana Hall had internships at the DC Volunteer Lawyers Project and the Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia.

For almost 10 years, Melissa Cannarozzi has worked in Mason’s Office of University Branding. She has spent half that time taking classes part-time and working on a master of arts in history.
