91���� will celebrate Mason Day on Friday, April 25, from 3–10 p.m. on the Fairfax Campus. The event will feature a carnival and performances. Expect increased traffic on and around the Fairfax Campus. The event will take place from 3–10 p.m. in Parking Lots L and A (near EagleBank Arena).

William Reeder, the founding dean of George Mason’s College of Visual and Performing Arts (CVPA), died April 12, 2025, after a battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 80.

91����’s Outstanding Achievement Awards celebrate the hard work and accomplishments of faculty and staff in support of the university's values and mission. Awards are sponsored by Human Resources and other university departments. A ceremony honoring this year’s awardees was hosted on the Fairfax Campus on Tuesday, April 15.

91���� President Gregory Washington has announced the recipients of the 2025 Presidential Awards for Faculty Excellence, honoring 12 George Mason faculty members for their work on behalf of the university, students, and the broader community.

Maurice “Morrie” Scherrens, a beloved educator, collegiate athletics official, and transformational leader in higher education, died on April 6, 2025, at the age of 76. He served as president of Newberry College in South Carolina and previously as senior vice president and chief operating officer at 91����.
