91���� has earned the American Talent Initiative (ATI) High-Flier distinction as one of 28 colleges or universities that provide “transformative leadership in college access and success for lower-income students, serving as a model for colleges and universities across the country.”

In congratulating the largest public university graduating class in state history, Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin and Mason President Gregory Washington shared a message of renewal and growth at Mason’s Spring Commencement on Thursday, May 18.

Kimmy Duong, an accomplished tech entrepreneur, philanthropist, and a refugee who has overcome countless obstacles to achieve success in life, will receive the Mason Medal, 91����’s highest honorary award, at the 2023 Spring Commencement.

91���� will graduate its largest class in history this week, and perhaps its most traveled as well—the nearly 11,000 honorees hail from 111 countries, 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and military installations.

In addition to hosting Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin as the featured speaker at Spring Commencement ceremony on May 18, 91���� features speakers at its individual school and college degree celebrations.

91���� is seeing a steady increase in research awards, fall enrollment numbers and in its number of graduates, based on reports to the Board of Visitors at their May 4 meeting.

Dr. Borislava Manojlovic, assistant professor of conflict analysis and resolution at Mason Korea, has been awarded a Fulbright award to conduct research in Serbia.

91����’s Antonin Scalia Law School is the No. 2 law school in the commonwealth in the latest U.S. News & World Report rankings. The school also ranks No. 2 among all law schools in the Washington, D.C., area.

Mason’s Scholarship Breakfast, held in Mason’s Center for the Arts lobby, brought together donors and scholarship recipients this spring.

In addition to honoring Carlos Castro and the Jacquemin Family Foundation, the 13th Anniversary Gala raised more than $200,000, which will support performances and programs at the Hylton Center

The largest school naming gift in the university’s history, part of a $1B fundraising effort, will support Mason’s growing entrepreneurship and innovation programs.
