Mason alumni and friends gathered at the Fairfax Campus on Tuesday evening, Oct. 19, to celebrate the impending Investiture of Mason’s eight president, Dr. Gregory Washington.

91���� alum Shaza Andersen, BA Area Studies ’89, is the featured speaker at the 2021 Winter Graduation ceremony.

Solving climate change is a grand challenge facing the planet. As more individuals and leaders are recognizing the need to switch to environmentally friendly practices, 91����’s Local Climate Change Planning Initiative (LCCPI) is helping make that a reality for counties across Virginia.

“Our vision is to have Mason be the lead university in helping counties that lack the resources and expertise in [addressing climate change] get this done,” said Paul Bubbosh, a 1988 Mason alumnus and adjunct professor at the Schar School and College of Science.

The Young Alumni Commissioning Project, a grant program for recent graduates, announced the fourth round of requests for proposals from interested alumni. The funds granted to recipients will fund new original works of art in a variety of mediums.

Shaza Andersen, a Mason alumna and founder and CEO of Trustar Bank, will be the featured speaker at Mason’s Winter Graduation this month.

Award-winning novelist Priyanka Champaneri is returning to the classroom this week as part of 91����’s Visiting Writers Series.

About 100 students attended the Fall 2021 Communication Career Forum hosted by Mason’s Department of Communication and its external advisory board, the Insight Committee. There they had the opportunity to interact in person with public affairs specialists, media producers, journalists, health communicators and marketers.
